Smuggling, local drug dealing and sexual exploitation in Pereira, Colombia

Abstract
The new scenarios of urban criminality present in Colombia point out the consolidation of criminal markets, some of which use homicidal violence as a strategy of social control and mediation and have their roots in the institutional realities configured in local and regional orders. This article analyzes the markets of smuggling, local drug dealing and the illegal sexual trade in Pereira from the dispositional sociology, recognizing the existence of a subfield of the illegal economy as articulating axis of illegal markets and homicidal violence.
