Abstract

This paper uses notions of biopolitics and food regimes to show that the transformation of diets controls both food and lives. With effects linked to health and the environment, the modification of diets has been associated with various power relationships throughout history, which have been used to guide the population towards a specific goal: that of capital. The purpose of this paper is to shed light on the complexity and dynamism of diets through a Foucaultian perspective to contribute to the analysis of the present circumstances.
