Peasant survival: Evidence of development with dignity
Main Article Content
Abstract
This article underscores the importance of the initiatives through which various Mexican peasant and indigenous communities have responded to political and economic transformations that adversely impact on their ways of life. The strategies developed by these communities have enabled them to survive on their own terms, preserving and renewing their technical knowledge, organization, culture and worldview, while creatively assuming and redefining their protagonist role as builders of their own destiny and their position in contemporary society through creativity in diversity.
